Warren (Mercy Otis) is born in Barnstable.

The daughter of James and Mary Otis and sister of James Otis Jr., Mercy Otis Warren is educated at home, marries James Warren in 1754,* and moves to Plymouth. After writing poetry that was published in local newspapers, she begins to write plays, and goes on to write a three-volume history of the American Revolution in 1805.* Warren dies in Plymouth on October 19, 1814.
